In this post, I would like to inform all foreign pilots about online days and various events in the Czech Republic.
The main online evening is Tuesday, as well as in the major part of Europe, therefore it is ideal to plan your flights to and from Prague on this day at about 18:30 UTC (this is considered to be the peak time). Usually the ATC coverage is at least an hour before and continues to late night hours, accordingly to traffic density.
Czech Republic has also second online evening, on Thursday, overally the ATC positions might not always be so much staffed this day, but it is still a good idea to make a flight. The time is the same like on Tuesday, 1830 UTC (19:30 UTC during winter time).
Besides regular online days, there are also controller exams quite often (several per month), which take place logically on Tuesday. These exams are well known by the numerous traffic, which makes you feel like being in the real skies, so this might possibly be the best time to enjoy your flight.
We will start posting the terms of the regular exams as well as the various events taking place in LKAA FIR in this forum from now on to keep you updated, so stay tuned for more!
